Kavre Sewa Samaj discusses its strategic plan and upcoming programmes
On Jestha 10, 2082 B.S., Kavre Sewa Samaj held a workshop on its strategic plan and upcoming programmes at Darbar Resort in Gamcha, Bhaktapur.
At the workshop, Umesh Prasad Mainali, former chairman of the Public Service Commission and former Home Secretary, stressed that Kavre Sewa Samaj should run programmes that help brand Kavrepalanchok's products and tourist destinations and bring them to market.
Participants noted that Kavrepalanchok borders the Kathmandu Valley, where heavy urbanisation leaves too little room for new industries, factories and universities. They stressed that the Samaj should push for such institutions to be established in Kavrepalanchok, and should coordinate among the local governments to advance shared and joint programmes, including development projects, for the district's overall development.
At the workshop, chaired by Kavre Sewa Samaj Chairman Purushottam Nepal, former Government of Nepal secretaries Dhan Bahadur Tamang and Janardan Nepal, among others, stressed that Kavre Sewa Samaj should work as a think tank for the whole country.
