From the Chairman's desk
As is well known, Kavre Sewa Samaj was registered at the District Administration Office, Kavre, in 2069 B.S., with the founding aim of "Let's do something for Kavre", and has been working ever since.
In response to the devastating earthquake of 2072 B.S., the organisation brought relief to affected people: food and cash assistance, temporary learning centres, classrooms for schools, temporary shelters, and the construction and handover of a school building at Bal Ujjwal Secondary School in Namobuddha Municipality. It also made every possible effort, on reasoned and fair grounds, to have Kavre declared the capital of the province. The contributions of Kavre Sewa Samaj are recorded in the issues of Kavreli Gunjan.
The organisation is moving forward, and will keep moving forward, hand in hand with everyone, so that it can do something from its own side for the happiness and prosperity of all Kavrelis, by birth or by work. Kavre has excellent potential in agriculture, tourism and trade. It is equally strong in religion and culture, and both the Araniko Highway to China in the north and the B.P. Highway to India in the south run through the district. Kavre therefore has abundant potential for prosperity in every field.
Since its founding, Kavre Sewa Samaj has published Kavreli Gunjan every year to bring its activities to light, covering economic, social, religious and cultural matters, education, health, employment, literature and more; this is its eighth edition. Finally, with everyone's affection, Kavre Sewa Samaj hopes to blossom and grow further, to join hands with everyone, and to build a sense of kinship with the people of Kavre in one way or another.
Long live Kavrepalanchok. Long live Kavre Sewa Samaj.
Prahlad K.C.
